Casablanca ceiling fans makes this exercise possible in four simple steps, so that you can adorn your ceiling with the perfect fan of your choice. Read on to know how.
Step 1 – Choosing a location
Depending on your needs, Casablanca lets you create a fan for the three following location – inside, outside, and inside/outside. The inside includes interior areas like the living room, bedroom, den, kitchen etc. The outside includes outdoor areas like the porch, verandah, Gazebo etc. that are directly exposed to rain. Inside/outside locations include those that are covered areas exposed to moisture, but not directly to sun or rain.
Step 2 – Selecting the motor
Depending on the location selected, the brand offers you a wide range of motors for your fan. There are about seventeen motor designs fit for use in the inside location. They are all Energy Star rated and come equipped with a universal wall control or a 4-speed pull chain, with optional remotes. The motors include finishes like Snow/Cottage White, Brushed Nickel, Antique Brass, Aged Bronze, Brushed Cocoa, and so on.
The motors for use in inside/outside locations are similar in to those for indoor use and are available in six design variants by Casablanca. They are damp rated and Energy certified with 4-speed pull chains or universal wall mount controls, with optional remotes.
The motors for use in outside areas are Energy Star and wet rated and have a 4-speed chain pull. They are available in Cottage White, Aged Bronze, and Maiden Bronze finishes.
Step 3 – Choosing fan blades
Post the selection of motors, the fan blades are to be selected. Based on the type of motor and finish chosen, Casablanca offers recommendations on blades that go with the style and designs. Blades in other colors and finishes are displayed as additional options.
Outdoor ceiling fan blades include designs like Halifax, Plantation Wicker, Espresso, etc. in Distressed Mahogany, Cocoa and Black Mahogany finish. Other styles include Matte Snow White and Cottage White. These trendy blades cover a sweep of 52 – 54 inches or 58 – 60 inches depending on the design.

Depending on your choice, the fans can come with or without light kits. The lamp variants include design variants like Four Lights, CFL Low Profile, Incandescent Low Profile, Bowl, and LED Bowl. Casablanca also lets you pick the color and finish of the glass shades for these lamps, so that they complement the design of your fan perfectly.
Step 5 – Selecting Accessories
Casablanca offers accessories such as extension down-rods, sloped ceiling adapters, and remote control for your custom built fan. The down-rods are recommended for ceilings higher than 9 feet, and can be configured in different lengths depending on the actual height of the ceiling. Sloped ceiling adapters are created to help support the fan from an angled ceiling (between 32 and 56 degrees). The handheld transmitter plus receiver device lets you convert any pull chain fan into a remote controlled one. It includes features such as four speed settings, full range light dimming, and safe exit.
Upon completion of customization, the order can be placed with the Casablanca Fan Company. Each custom made fan from this brand is covered by a 120-day industry leading-in-home service warranty, a one year warranty on parts and electronics, and a lifelong warranty on the motor.
